If you’re like me, you’ll be getting a little excited about decorating your home for Christmas around about now.
Before setting up my own business, I spent several years working as an interiors editor in London, so every year I got to feast my eyes on the most beautiful festive homes from around the world. Almost always, the Swedish ones were my favourites. As a lover of all things simple, natural and minimalist, they definitely appealed to my aesthetic so I was fully inspired with creative Christmas ideas every year.
I photographed this beautiful Surrey family home last December, owned by Swedish-born Denise and her property developer husband, Nick. Denise helps run The Dining Chair Company and has a natural flair for interior design. She wanted to share her Swedish Christmas style and traditions with their young family so she created this incredible festive interior full of beautiful handcrafted pieces and homemade food, with quiet, sophisticated elements throughout. I love how the use of colour and natural materials conjures up images of snow-covered cabins and warm log fires.

Wow! This family whose home you photographed has excellent taste. Classy Christmas decor without being overdone. Going to look for a wreath just like theirs.
