There is something about Wisley gardens that makes me feel utterly content.
I’ve often wondered what that is. I wander through the grounds, camera in hand, and there is nowhere in the world I would rather be. It’s the same feeling I’ve always had when exploring new and interesting places in far away countries. Except it takes around fifteen minutes to get there. To me, it is like an entire universe condensed into one location where I can learn endless things about plants and nature.
We go there as a family quite regularly and our young children love to run free, learn and explore too. Every season brings new joy, and there are always great workshops and exhibitions to see. In fact, everything I know about butterflies was learned in The Glasshouse, thanks to a very enthusiastic four year old! I could not recommend becoming a member highly enough, it is an incredible place to have in your life.
Here are a few lovely winter details from our visit last weekend – please leave a comment below, I would LOVE to hear your thoughts!
If you are interested in becoming a member and helping to support the great work the RHS do, you can find out more here.
Naturally, it is perfect for a family photo shoot too – here are some images of the lovely Williams family.
Gorgeous!
